CANCELLATION OF SJI OPEN HOUSE ON 18 July
Please be informed that SJI Open House scheduled on 18 Jul 2009 will be CANCELLED (as informed by SJI).
Parents can log on to the school's website (www.sji.edu.sg) to find out more about SJI various programmes and activities. You can call 62500022 or email to contact@sji.moe.edu.sg if you have any queries.
(a) SJI has various financial schemes to assist any boy whose parents cannot afford the school fees.
(b) Entry to SJI is by merit. Admission is based on PSLE results.

Bring Thermometers to School from Term 3, Week One
The H1N1 situation is still a cause for concern. To date, there are 365 cases and Pulau Tekong Camp is another source for the new cluster of H1N1.

NO SCHOOL CLOSURE
I received some emails from some of you. Hence, just to confirm what MOE released today, there will be no school closure.

As such, I expect to see most of you in school on 29th of June with all homework done! Yeah... :)
Before seeing you on next Monday, I will need the following information from you. Quite URGENT...
- Did you travel during the holidays? (Even if it is to Malaysia)
- If you did, where did you go?
- When did you return to Singapore?
Please email me the information at reginia.loh@gmail.com or sms/call me to supply me with the information. The school is collating these information for submission to MOE.
Please quarantine yourself for seven days if you have been to the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Philippines, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States of America.

CANCELLATION OF PSLE BOOSTER AND ALL SCHOOL ACTIVITIES FROM 22nd to 26th June 2009
In view of the current H1N1 situation, please be informed that PSLE Booster will be cancelled and all other school activities (CCA, remedials etc) will be cancelled as well.
If you have any queries, you can email me, call me or sms me if you have my handphone number.
Please exercise vigilance during this period as all of us have a part in preventing the further spread of H1N1.
You are advised not to come to school for seven days if you have returned from the following states: USA, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom (includes Ireland and N. Ireland), Chile, Panama,Argentina, Thailand, Philippines and Dominican Republic. (From my understanding, there isn't any students from our class... but if you did travel to these places, do let me know.)

Extra Lessons during the Holidays
Do note the dates for extra lessons:
- 17th of June (0830 to 1230): Maths, EL, Science
- 19th of June (0830 to 1230): Maths, EL, Science
- 22nd of June (0800-1230): PSLE Booster - Maths and EL
- 22nd of June (1300-1500): Chinese lessons for selected students
- 23rd of June (0800-1230): PSLE Booster - Maths and Chinese
I will give a break of 30 minutes, from 10 to 1030a.m on the 17th and 19th of June. As the canteen may not be open, do bring some of your own food. Just to be on the safe side. :)
